Had COVID? Part of the Virus May Stick Around in Your Brain
Updated: Sep 12
We are getting closer to figuring out the cause of brain fog after covid. People can experience trouble with memory, and basic problem solving such as knowing what to do with simple documents. Researchers in Germany have now shown that part of the virus remains in the brain after the main covid infection is gone. One thought is that these virus fragments trigger inflammation that causes long COVID symptoms.
I am hopeful that we will learn more about the cause of brain fog as a first step to developing really useful treatments.
