It's hard to know if you should take supplemental Vit D. Here's a study from a dermatology clinic that found that those who took supplemental Vitamin D have a lower rate of malignant melanoma. This doesn't mean that supplemental Vit D caused the lower melanoma rate. Maybe people who are at risk of melanoma use a lot of sunscreen and also take Vit D.
