A simple shift like finishing dinner earlier may have measurable effects on health. This study adds to the growing evidence that when we eat may matter, not just what we eat.

This February 2026 study by Grimaldi, published in Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, found that extending overnight fasting by about 3 hours, with the last meal at least 3 hours before bedtime, improved nighttime blood pressure, heart rate, cortisol, and morning glucose tolerance, suggesting sleep-aligned fasting may support cardiometabolic health.

I'm working on cutting out my before-bed snacking, wish me luck!
