For years, daily aspirin use was believed to reduce cardiovascular events (strokes and heart attacks).
This August 2025 study by Wolfe, published in the European Heart Journal, found that healthy older adults who took low-dose aspirin had no long-term reduction in major cardiovascular events compared with placebo.
