Even One Head Injury Boosts All-Cause Mortality Risk

Updated: Sep 12

Sometimes you study one thing and find another. The Atherosclerosis Risk In Community study followed 13,000 people over 27 years. They found that 18% had head injuries, and one head injury raised the risk of all-cause mortality by 66% and two head injuries raised the risk of all-cause mortality by 100%. I wonder if doctors will start screening people for head injuries more carefully now.
