We often focus on diet and exercise, but the air we breathe every day has just as much impact on our health.

This April 2026 article by Christensen, published by CNN, highlighted that Bangor, Maine, was the only US city to appear on all three of the American Lung Association’s “cleanest air” lists. The report found that nearly 152 million Americans live in areas with unhealthy air pollution, with ozone and particle pollution linked to conditions including asthma, heart disease, stroke, dementia, anxiety, and certain cancers. The findings also showed that people of color are disproportionately more likely to live in heavily polluted communities.

Apparently, clean air is becoming a luxury experience.
