In This Issue: Hospice: You Can Start Too Soon
Should hospice be started as soon as possible? Sharing my experience with starting hospice care for my mother, I highlight the issue of getting the start of the timing right when you still want to see your doctors.
In general, hospice is started too late. On the other hand, just because someone is hospice eligible, they don’t have to start right away. There’s a need for individualized care based on the patient's wishes and stage of illness.
